“Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?,” said a man who was seeking to be saved by Jesus.
This was the witnessed and recorded day many months ago when we called on the name of the Lord with our eldest son (e.i., independently accountable to God), who made the most important decision one can make as a repentant believer confessing Christ as Lord and King (Rom. 10:9, Jn. 3:16, 36).
Through faith (Heb. 11:6) our son Joshua went to the tomb of our Master (Rom. 6:3-4), not from any boastful works of merit (Eph. 2:8-9), but rather a humble and submissive heart (Lk. 23:43). Josh did so because it’s the only burial that would clothe him with Jesus (Gal. 3:26-27). Josh has been born again according to Scripture (2 Tim. 3:16-17), contacting the redemptive blood (Mt. 26:28), being saved (Mk. 16:16). This immersion added Joshua to the church built by the power of God (1 Cor. 12:13), for there is no other name (Acts 4:12) or location (Mt. 16:18), one must be found in order to have eternal life (Jn. 14:6).
This love, mercy, and grace, is available to all (1 Tim. 2:4, Mt. 6:33)
